Aaron holds a First-Class Bachelor of Science degree with honours in Forensic Investigation from Bournemouth University. He is a member of the International Association of Arson Investigators (IAAI) and the United Kingdom Association of Fire Investigators. With IAAI, he holds the certification of Fire Investigation Technician. Aaron is an associate member of the Institution of Fire Engineers and a member of the Chartered Society of Forensic Sciences. He completed the renowned Bond Solon course relating to reporting and giving oral evidence in court.
After graduation, Aaron went to work as an examiner in traditional crime scene laboratories at LGC and Cellmark, conducting blood pattern analysis, body fluid searching, DNA swabbing and fibre examination. He then went on to work as a Forensic Specialist in British American Tobacco’s Anti Illicit Trade laboratory, applying forensic ballistic techniques in the tracking of counterfeit tobacco products across the globe.
Following this, Aaron spent a number of years with Bureau Veritas as a Scientific Advisor to the London Fire Brigade. In this role, he conducted laboratory and fire scene investigations with a wide variety of incidents ranging from relatively small house fires to large warehouse blazes. This role also involved Aaron advising the Fire Brigade in operational hazardous materials incidents both at the scene and remotely.
Aaron has delivered various training courses to the London Fire Brigade on several subjects ranging from fire investigation to the dangers of hazardous materials.
