Dr. Nadia Mofidi is a Chartered Engineer with an extensive 16+ year track record in the dynamic field of fire safety. She holds a Ph.D. in Fire Science, an MSc in Fire Protection Engineering, and a BSc in Mechanical Engineering. She possesses a diverse background, with expertise in fire engineering design within the built environment and the energy sector, coupled with active participation in multiple pioneering research projects in wildfire science and climate change. Nadia is currently Head of Halliwell Fire Research, UK & EU, and holds visiting positions as a Visiting Lecturer at California Polytechnic State University and as a Visiting Researcher at University College London.
After obtaining her Mechanical Engineering degree, Nadia started her professional journey as a Fire Protection Engineer, ascending through various roles in engineering consultancies across Iran, USA, UK, and Japan. She pursued MSc and PhD in Fire Protection Engineering and Fire Science, contributing significantly to research in wildfire behaviour, turbulent diffusion fire dynamics. During her sabbatical in Japan in 2023, she conducted specialized research on timber design and fire safety, establishing valuable connections with the Japanese fire engineering industry. Her standing in the field is underscored by professional memberships, awards, and recognition including being endorsed by the Royal Academy of Engineering as Global Promise in Fire Safety.
